The role of the office of Global Engagement is to prepare you to do just that. Formed in 2021, The Office of Global Engagement is designed to serve the university by enabling internationalization in all of its forms. Whether it is helping you find your first study abroad experience from the US or assisting you as an international student to come to the US; The Office of Global Engagement is here to help you achieve your international aspirations.
The Office of Global Engagement is comprised of 4 different units coming together to oversee all things global at Mercer, from study abroad, incoming international admissions, visa services, and helping you navigate Mercer once you’ve gotten here. Office of Global Education
The Office of Global Education manages all outgoing study abroad programs, except Mercer On Mission. In addition to study abroad programs, the Office of Global Education also manages Mercer University’s Peace Corps Prep (PCP) Program. The Office of Global Education is located on the Macon campus, but Global Education staff work with faculty and students across the University in all colleges and schools to find and develop curricular-specific travel programs for undergraduate and graduate students alike.
Office of Global Enrollment
The Office of Global Enrollment seeks to recruit, retain, and enroll Mercerians from throughout the world; to collaborate and extend academic opportunities for international students across all schools and colleges. We help students seeking to enroll at Mercer in each step of their admissions process and collaborate with other members in the Office of Global Engagement to help students navigate the US immigration system as well as to help them acclimatize to US academic and social culture.
Office of Global Pathways and Immigration
Mercer University is proud to host foreign nationals who have chosen to pursue educational endeavors in the U.S. on an F-1 or J-1 visa. With locations in both Macon and Atlanta, the staff in the Office of Global Pathways provides walk-in service to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors with questions related to being or hosting an F-1 or J-1 student at Mercer University. We are skilled in immigration and cultural advising, we provide academic guidance for visiting exchange students, and we support academic departments in working with visiting students and scholars.
Office of Global Services
The Office of Global Services has additional resources to assist international students with their transition to Mercer. Information concerning housing, finances, acculturation to US academic standards and culture, as well as information concerning U.S. government regulations concerning international students is available. The Office of Global Services is located in Wiggs Hall in Macon Campus, and Day Hall on the Atlanta Campus.
