Pre-Arrival Information

• Be sure to check your Mercer IT login credentials. You should receive two emails upon admission from our IT helpdesk—an email with your login ID and an email with your temporary password.  
  • Use these credentials to sign into your My Mercer student portal and your Mercer Outlook account.  
  • Be sure to check your Mercer email on Outlook regularly. If you have difficulties logging into your account, please contact Mercer IT at helpdesk@mercer.edu  

• All students at Mercer University are required to have certain immunizations. The Health Information Form must be completed and signed by the student and submitted along with an official copy of the student’s Immunization (vaccine) record. These documents will be uploaded on MyMercer.

Most undergraduate students are required to live on-campus. There are a variety of residence halls and Lofts that are considered to be on-campus.

The University has a 3-year housing requirement. Housing is not guaranteed for seniors (4th year). All freshmen (1st year), sophomore (2nd year), and junior (3rd year) students, under 22 years of age are required to live on campus.

Housing is assigned based on a student’s high school graduation date.

For J-1 or exchange students, Mechile Smith will register these students for their desired courses based on availability. Caroline Mason is able to offer additional advice for course selection.

For first-year/transfer students, the MAP (Mercer Academic Profile) is required to be completed before students are registered for courses. For a student’s first semester, the schedule is mostly made for them.

• Set your arrival date. 
  • Do not enter the U.S. more than 30 days prior to your program start date. You may confirm this date on your I-20 form.  
  • Have a housing plan BEFORE you purchase your ticket!
